Every Day I'm New

The chirping of the birds. The rising sun. Gratitude to take a conscious breath.

It’s a new day. It doesn’t matter how yesterday ended because I have today. I’m walking into the unknown. I may have my plan and schedule set out for the day, but life is still a mystery. There will still be experiences today that I did not expect, conversations that I didn’t anticipate having. A new day is my opportunity to see the world fresh. There are things that I know, but there’s an underlying current that is open to understanding things that I don’t know. Moreover, I am open to understanding things that I couldn’t possibly know were available to me before.

The people I knew yesterday will appear different to me if I take the time to look. So, I will get to know them as they are today.

I have a day. An opportunity to do all those things I have been waiting to start. The things I’ve been dying to do, but just "haven’t found time" to do. Now, I have time. I have a day.

I have a day to reconnect. I am available to plug back into those things that support equilibrium in my life. I am awake. I can choose because I’m not asleep. I have a day.

I have space. What will come today? It’s exciting to know that I don’t know. And if I think I know, I’m most certainly sleepwalking. There will be moments of this day that I may never experience again in my lifetime. Small, brief, moments that, if I pay attention, will show me things that I never expected to see. I have a day.

I have time. To transform the obstacles in my life into opportunities to grow. I could find resistance and stress about what I will face today or I could be open to what comes. A softness and receptivity paired with the courage to surrender my ideals. I have time to share with myself and others. I have a day.

I bring my presence to this day and therefore experience clarity. I will walk moment by moment, experiencing each as an open door to a new opportunity. I will not waste this time but give myself to it. And receive the abundance of life, its endless and effortless flow. There’s much that I can see. There’s also so much that I can’t. But, this is why I am here. I have a day.
